1963

The company was incorporated as Ferment-A-Feeds by Don Hess. It was started as a business to recover cheese whey from creameries that had a disposal problem. The whey was dried on a carrier of corn gluten feed and sold to local hog producers in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota.

1972

Ferment-A-Feeds was purchased by William R. Holt and the name was changed to Fermented Products, Inc. Recognizing the benefits of lactic acid and fermentation by-products in livestock, a process to ferment the whey was refined and perfected.

1974

A patent was issued on a cultured lactic acid fermentation product, Kulactic®. This product was sold to feed manufacturers throughout the upper Midwest and Canada.

1986

Fermented Products, Inc. officially changed its name to International Whey Technics, Ltd. (IWT), retaining the Fermented Products name as a division.

1986

Introduced Desert Gold Dry and Desert Gold Liquid, a 100% NATURAL product made entirely from the Yucca Schidigera plant.

1987

IWT expanded sales of all products to the Pacific Rim.

1999

IWT was purchased by Mark G. Holt. Changed name to Varied Industries Corporation (Vi-COR®).

1999

Introduction of A-Max® yeast culture to domestic and foreign markets.

2003

VI-COR establishes Milk to the MAX® – a free dairy evaluation and employee training program that helps dairy producers improve milk quality and quantity.

2004

Introduction of Celmanax® Dry.

2006

Introduction of Celmanax Liquid.

2011

New plant dedicated to manufacturing Celmanax SCP (Soluble Concentrated Powder) goes online.
